Cacao Maca Energy Smoothie

Cacao Maca Energy Smoothie

Ready to have a energized morning? Two superfoods that I love to pair together to boost my energy are cacao and maca. They both offer your body a clean boost of energy, especially on an early, active morning. This is a great energy smoothie to make before or after a morning workout! The raw, pure, organic cacao adds antioxidants, magnesium, iron, chromium, manganese, zinc, copper, vitamin C, phosphorus and more. While maca is rich is calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, vitamin B1, B2, C, E and iron. It contains trace minerals like zinc and selenium and is great for energy.
According to Incan cultural history, warriors (both Incan and the invading Spanish) would eat maca before battles to increase energy, prowess, and recovery time.
This simple, yet nutritiously dense combo will power up your morning.

SuperLife It:

You can also make this smoothie with some extra ice in it and use it as the base for a mouth-watering morning fruit bowl. Just pour it in the bowl and add whatever seasonal, fresh fruit you have and even a serving of organic, homemade granola or a nut mix on top.
